I am a child of the mid-west with midwestern values and ideal. Born north of Chicago and raised in Illinois and Indiana I saw many things that I loved and hated. Then, in 1983, I came to Colorado to a place that I fell in love with. Douglas County is the place I call home.
I have been in the courtrooms of Colorado since 1985 when I started interning in the Douglas County Courts. Back to my native state of Illinois for law school from 1987 through 1990 and then back to the courts to assist until I started practicing law in 1991. Since beginning my law practice, I have been helping people with criminal and divorce matters throughout the front range of Colorado. Providing high quality legal representation is what clients deserve and what they can expect. Although our clients find themselves in difficult positions, being attentive to a client's needs is something I take pride in. I handle all criminal and DUI related matters, as well as divorce and family related matters. I pride myself in working to resolve all cases in the most efficient way possible.
With over 30 years of courtroom experience, I know how the court system and how the attorneys, judges, and court clerks in the court system work. When in a trial or other hearing, my philosophy is be nice until it is time to not be nice. Usually, the being nice part gets the right message across.
I have a 9.7 rating on Avvo which is within the “Superb” level, the highest level one can attain on the Avvo website. After 30 years of mostly working for myself, I now bring my experience to the Skulborstad Legal Group to serve those clients in the Colorado Springs and Denver metropolitan areas. I look forward to continuing my service to the people of Colorado
